In Maths, the Kinder and Year One students have been working on recognising, creating and extending different patterns. They have made patterns using objects, shapes, numbers and even people!

Our list of known sounds for reading and writing continues to grow. The students are using known sounds to create words. The Year One students are being encouraged to try and write longer words.

Motor skills continue to be one of the favourite activities. The students especially enjoy the equipment that they don’t regularly use, such as the rebound net and the scooter board.

K/1 students like to be involved in whole school projects like Clean Up Australia Day. They were amazed at how much rubbish we collected in our half block.

According to the K/1 students, the best thing we did this week was visit the Preschool. I’m not sure whether that was because they had the opportunity to share their published books or the playtime that came after their hard work!
