Class Happenings - 2/3/4

It has been a busy few weeks in 2/3/4 with lots of learning happening.
In Maths we have explored several topics and students have enjoyed exploring length in practical ways. Last week, we measured our current running track and are happy to say it came in at just over 490m.
This week students began investigating data and are enjoying finding ways to display the data accurately. We conducted a class survey and have use a variety of graphs to display. We are also still loving our opportunities to play Prodigy.

In history we are investigating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and have begun focussing on ‘Connection to Country’. The class has had some fantastic discussion about Country, what it means to them and what it means to Indigenous peoples. We also had a fantastic lesson comparing how long Indigenous Peoples have lived on Australia compared to Non-Indigenous. We are also close to having a conversation in Wiradjuri.

As a class we have created a game called “Indoor Classroom Knee Cricket”. The students have loved the opportunities to play and 5/6 have even joined in on the fun last week.

In Japanese we created characters that could introduce and give information about themselves and recreated the famous painting, ‘The Great Wave of Kanagawa’.
