Children are very aware that there is a new normal in their world. Handwashing, hand sanitising and desk cleaning have become new rituals in their lives here at school. They know that these small rituals, and the larger new norm of isolating at home, mean that they are doing their part to protect each other, their loved ones, and people in the wider community from contracting the Corona virus.
Prayer to start and end each school day has also become a very important ritual for the children here at school. It allows them, in a very real way, to express their concerns and worries in a hope-filled way. It also allows them the opportunity to thank God for the gifts they have in their lives. Their prayers are sincere and heartfelt. I hope that it has become a ritual in your house too, and that it won’t disappear just because we are getting back to some semblance of normality next week. Sometimes, something unexpected can offer us a chance to make changes for the better.
May peace and hope fill your hearts. We are all looking forward to seeing all of those smiling faces at school next week!
Many Blessings,
