Principal's Report
Dear parents and carers,
The second week of term has flowed smoothly.
Our K/1 children have been taste testing the carrots and strawberries from our veggie gardens and the overwhelming response has been that the veggies grown at school are much tastier than those coming from the shops.
We have been continuing the journey with focussing on aspects of our way of engaging at play times. So far this term we’ve had a focus on Keeping Games Moving and Being Safe. Choosing to adopt this way of playing has helped to ensure that everyone gets a turn to try out their skills, which is terrific to see.
Public Speaking – congratulations to Camilla G, Camilla M, William, Emma, Beau, Genevieve, Banjo and Hamish. Today they did an admirable job participating in the Archdiocesan Public Speaking competition via MS Teams.
They competed against students from Pambula, Cooma, Goulburn Crookwell, and Bombala.
Congratulations, you did a fantastic job!
Our first Mufti Day for this term is set down for next Friday. Everyone is reminded that when we have a Mufti day, we make a gold coin donation to support those less fortunate then ourselves. I encourage everyone to remember that our Mufti Days are a small way to provide support for those less fortunate then ourselves.
Book Week is coming…tomorrow
This year’s theme is Curious Creatures, Wild minds!
It is hoped that everyone has been thinking about which character you might come along to our Book Week Parade as, remember to bring along the book that your character features in!
The children should wear their outfit to school, and we will be out the front tomorrow morning between 10:40 – 11:00am for you to drive past and check out our visiting characters.
We look forward to giving you a wave tomorrow!
Sports – please be aware that we are planning for various sporting activities this term. A note relating to his year’s swimming program will be coming home early next week.
P & F – Our P & F have the Canteen up and running again, for this term. Thank you to Catherine for your efforts to reintroduce recess through the canteen.
Please note the RECESS menu is up and running for next week – remember to pre order your recess as there will no over the counter sales.
Volunteers and suggestions for the menu are always welcome and appreciated, if you can help, please contact Catherine.
Please note that we need to comply with the NSW Healthy Canteen regulations as well as the current NSW Health covid-19 regulations.
Please see the attached order forms.
Please fill in and return order forms by Tuesday.
Next Friday (30/10) is our next Mufti Day and the P & F will be offering a Set Lunch Meal deal. The meal includes the choice of a bacon & egg roll or a gluten free bacon & egg wrap plus a popper and a lemonade icy pole.
If you would like to order a Mufti Meal Deal, please return your order form by Wednesday.
Changes to routine - Thank you to those families who are keeping us informed when children are absent from school, or there are changes to the regular routine.
Please make it your custom to check in at the office if your children are running late to school – we appreciate your efforts to do this.
Take care and stay safe,
