Class Happenings
Kreative Koalas is an action learning program which engages students in sustainability awareness, understanding and action through art, design, creativity, and teamwork.
Part of this involves connecting experts in the community who hold the knowledge, wisdom, and experience to assist the students to learn more.
The Year 5/6 students, who are continuing to focus on the importance of water and its management, recently enjoyed speaking with Joel Conron about his work as a plumber, and his current role as Director of Conron Stockcrete, and aspects around water sustainability.
Plumbers have a range of interesting skills and do a wide variety of work. Mr Conron spoke to students about jobs a plumber might do, as well as tools and tricks of the trade.
Here is what the students had to say:
The most enjoyable moment was seeing what tools a plumber uses. We also got to hold the tools to see how they could be used to service water pipes and to complete his work.
The most engaging aspect was when Joel talked about the tools he uses as a plumber. It was also engaging to learn about water sustainability things plumbers install and use.
