Kindergarten, Year One and Year Two

During this term, our Creative and Practical arts unit is Dance. We have been learning about how important is to be safe when we are moving around the room with others. We also have been developing our skills in keeping a four beat rhythm with different parts of our bodies. The students have been very creative in developing mini-dances using a variety of body parts.

Year Five and Six

We have been working on developing our understandings of how natural disasters can create networks and links between populations of different countries throughout the world. We have been studying the devastating effects of the Boxing Day Tsunami, which occurred in 2004, affecting and influencing many of our local neighbouring countries. We are working on research to create a documentary or news report that reflects the response of the Australian Government, its people and charitable organisations at the time. We have been able to take notes on the research of our peers.

Year Three and Four

We have been learning about area during this term. In small groups, we have been constructing square metres using a variety of tools.  

Each group has approached the task in a different way in order to devise the most accurate measure of a square metre. Following this, we will use our square metres to measure the area of a variety of objects as well as explore how many teacher-sized feet are able to fit into the area of a square metre.
