Swimming
Relay success! Camilla M, Inida E, Saskia M and Tayla S came away with Silver, in the "Small Schools" relay event at Homebush, last week. The girls knocked 11 seconds off their entry time. The team will now represent Mackillop at the NSWPSSA Championships, Thursday 6th April. Good luck, girls!

Special mention, India E also swam in the 50m Butterfly and attained a PB of 40 seconds. Very impressive. What incredible swimming.

Rugby Union
Last Thursday, Jack F, Jack P, Charlie, Jed, Isaac and Braxton, combined with Grenfell Public School to play in the Southwest Slopes Rugby Union Gala day. The boys came away with 2 wins and 1 loss. According to onlookers each student put in their best effort and showed great skill. Students will continue on to the next level of the competetion, playing in Wagga Wagga next term. More details for this event will be sent out to respective families when the information becomes available.
Netball
Unfortunately, last weeks "Schools Cup" netball gala day was called off due to poor weather. Fear not, the event has been postponed to mid-June. Updated details will be advised next term.
Athletic's Carnival
We had a wonderful day at our Athletics Carnival on Tuesday! We were extremely lucky to have such beautiful weather conditions and the students definitely made the most of the sunshine.
Students participated in the following: field events, shot put, discus and long jump. All students demonstrated outstanding skill, using great power when throwing the discus and shot put. We also had some fantastic technique at the long jump pit, with some students leaping over three metres!
On the track students raced in the 800 m, 200 m and 100 m events. Our speedy students took impeccable strides, with some races coming down to the wire.
Mrs McFarlane and Mrs Best organised some novelty events for our younger cohort. They enjoyed lots of races, with the three-legged race keeping everyone entertained in particular. It was lovely to see the older children cheering on their younger peers throughout.
To conclude the day, each sports house nominated a relay team to race against some parents and teachers. Xavier came first, just ahead of the parents and teachers' team. Great sportsmanship was shown by the cheer squad and competitors.
A special thank you to The Henry Lawson High School and to our volunteer high school students and parents who assisted throughout the day. Please note that house points and age champions will be announced next term after the completion of the high jump event at school.
Western Region Cross Country
When: Friday, 28th April. Term 2, Week 1.
Where: Grenfell Country Club. Goolagong Rd.
Parents and Carers of students participating, will have received information via Compass a few weeks ago, where consent is required. Thank you.
As our school and P& F are hosting the Western Region carnival, it would be great to see as many volunteers from our community as possible. If you aren't already assisting and wish to, please contact Mrs Harveyson.
