Dear parents and carers,
Once again, we were blessed by the weather clearing up just in time on Tuesday morning to provide perfect conditions for the Cross Country. Thank you to St Joseph’s Sports Coordinator Cindy Washbrook for coordinating this event and thanks also to Mrs Harveyson and the teachers for all their efforts to ensure the success of this event. Meals on Wheels Lunch
The children performed with enthusiasm and excellence at the Meals on Wheels Lunch at the Bowling Club on Wednesday - congratulations and well done! It was great to have the opportunity to perform for the guests and we appreciate these important links with the community very much.
School Community Council
Thank you to the parents who have expressed interest in being on the Executive Committee of the Community Council. Our commitment and generosity are greatly appreciated. We will arrange a meeting parents who have provided EOIs early in term 2.
In the meantime, a meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday 9th April at 5.00pm for two purposes:
- To formally conclude the activities of the Parents and Friends Association
- To provide the opportunity for parents to pose outstanding questions regarding the transition of the School Board and the P&F to the School Community Council.

St Joseph’s Cross Country – Tuesday 2nd April
First day back after the Easter break is the St Jospeh’s Cross Country. The children should come to school as usual, dressed in the school uniform and sunscreen with a hat, water bottle.
The children will be bused to the Golf Club and we will walk the cross country course at 9.30am. The races will commence directly after this.
Please come along and support our runners! Parents and friends are very welcome!
ANZAC Day
We would like to give families lots of notice that ANZAC day falls within the school holidays on Thursday 25th April. We hope to see as many families as possible join us for the events, and especially for the march past and Main Service. Please see details below:

ANZAC Day March Pass:
Time: 1030Hrs (10:30 am)
Form up location: Western end of Main St Grenfell.
ANZAC Day Main Service:
Time: 1100Hrs (11:00 am)
Location: Grenfell Memorial Park
Given the recent change in the weather, the students are asked to wear their full school Winter uniform.
Uniform
We have recieved all of our winter uniform delivery, please see the front office about purchasing winter items. Our clothing pool also has winter items available.
Winter uniform is to worn from the commencement of term 2.
Interested in Dance?
We are delighted to be exploring the possibility of offering Dance in Grenfell here at St Joseph's as an after-school activity. Please see the flyer below with details of a ‘trial’ event to gauge interest. We hope to be able to offer this experience to St Joseph's children and children from the wider community.
Wishing Mr and Mrs Harveyson all the Very Best!
Mrs Harveyson commences maternity leave on Friday 5th April and on behalf of the St Joseph’s community, we wish Chelsea and Dan all the very best for the exciting time ahead. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they await the arrival of baby Harveyson and we look forward very much to hearing of the safe arrival over the coming weeks.
Thank you to Mrs Harveyson for working alongside Mrs Wasbrook to give the Year 5 /6 students a great start this year. Mrs Washbrook will be the full time Yr 5/6 teacher from Monday 9th April.
Mrs Harveyson has also excelled as Acting Religious Education Coordinator this term and I have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside Chelsea and experiencing her positive leadership.
I am sure the community looks forward to welcoming Chelsea back to St Joseph’s in 2025.
In Conclusion…
As Term 1 draws to a close on Friday 12th April next week, on behalf of the staff, I would like to thank parents for your terrific help and support. We have enjoyed a positive start to the year and look forward to all that lies ahead.
School resumes for Term 2 the children on Tuesday 30th April but in the meantime, we hope to see you all on ANZAC Day for the March and the Service.
