Dear Parents and Carers,
St Joseph’s Feast Day Celebration
St Joseph’s Feast Day was last Sunday, and we celebrated with a beautiful Liturgy prepared by Mrs McFarlane on Monday. Students then joined in a variety of rotational activities and finished with a shared lunch. Thank you to the parents and families that were able to join us, it was lovely to have you celebrating with us.
Harmony Day
On Tuesday, students discussed the meaning of 'harmony' and celebrated all the different cultures that make up Australia. Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Day. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.

St Joseph’s Feast Day Celebration
On Monday we celebrated the Feast Day of our school patron saint, St. Joseph, with a beautiful liturgy at St. Joseph’s Church. All students contributed something to the liturgy symbolising St. Joseph. Kindergarten and Year One made carpenter’s squares, Year Two/ Three/ Four made posters portraying the St Joseph Prayer and Year Five and Six made lilies. Year Five and Six led the readings well and all students participated reverently. The liturgy was followed by a variety of activities and a shared lunch. One of the activities was a creating a poster with each child’s hand outline and words depicting St Joseph’s qualities. The students showed a great understanding of who St. Joseph was and his key qualities.
As a school community we strive to emulate St. Joseph’s wonderful virtues in our own lives.
Thank you to the parents and families that were able to join us for this special celebration.
Prayer to Joseph
Faithful Joseph:
Teach us to listen and not be afraid to trust
as you did in God's promise.
Loving Joseph:
Teach us to love courageously with a heart
that is free and just.
Protector Joseph:
Teach us to protect one another and all
that belongs to God.
Dreamer Joseph:
Teach us to dream a world where all are neighbours;
a vision illuminated by God's light.
Teacher Joseph:
Teach us to keep the Word of God close to our hearts, and to proclaim it in word and action.
Gentle Joseph:
Teach us to be gentle with our power and
strong in our tenderness.
Parent Joseph:
Teach us to be for all persons a living lesson
of goodness and truth - a blessing for all
generations to come.
Amen.
Sacramental Program
We are awaiting confirmation of dates from Father Jiss for the 2023 sacramental program. We will keep you informed as more information comes to hand.
Harmony Day Prayer
Tuesday the 21st of March saw us recognise Harmony Day. The following is a prayer in recognition of Harmony Day:
God of all people, God of love,
Just as the colours of a rainbow
Blend and merge to form one rainbow,
So too may the colours of our different cultures and beliefs,
blend and merge in our families, our communities and throughout our world,
through mutual respect and acceptance,
so that we may come together in true harmony.
Amen
Lenten Reflection
Lent is the period of spiritual preparation that leads to Easter. During Lent we traditionally follow the three pillars of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Many people do other penances—giving things up. Lent also involves a reorientation of your life in relation giving – whether that means being more loving, more generous, more faithful, more trusting, or more open. So, this Lent, maybe you could pray not simply for the willingness to give up chocolate, but to become a more loving person, day by day, in your own way. Try to see it as not simply a “giving up” but an invitation from God to become the person God wants you to be.
