Dear parents and carers,
Mother’s Day – we would like to wish all of our mums a fabulous day on Sunday for Mother’s Day. We hope that your families enjoy the day with you.
During Week 2, we have continued to settle in to our learning routine as it currently stands.
This week we welcome Mrs Wilkes who will be working with us for the remainder of this year. Mrs Wilkes will look after the Library and enable Mrs King and myself to complete other tasks that are part of our roles. Mrs Wilkes will be at school on Thursday and Friday erach week.
As advised earlier this week, we will begin the process of returning to face-to-face learning during Week 3 (next week). This will involve each class group returning to school one for one day each.
- Monday – Yr. K/1 + essential worker’s children
- Tuesday – Yr. 2/3/4 + essential worker’s children
- Wednesday Yr. 5/6 + essential worker’s children
Having class groups together will enable the children to begin the process of reconnecting with both classmates and staff.
Beginning on Monday May 18 (Week 4) all children may return full time (5 days a week). Please advise via email if your children will be attending school in a full time capacity from Week 4 (May 18). Please provide initial advice relating to this by Friday May 8, to assist with planning. Thank you to those families who have already been in contact to let us know of their intentions for next week.
Thank you for your patience with the transition to the new learning platform. This week has seen us move to the MS Teams environment as our primary means of online learning. Thank you for the feedback that you have sent in, it has been very helpful when reporting challenges.
Please remember to make use of the 1300 number available to parents if ICT support is required at home 1300 232 448.
Please remember that the printed work packs contain all of the information that you would find in the online environment. Staff have continued working this week to further refine the packs and we trust that you will find these even more manageable next week.
We have received feedback from a number of families and we have worked to align timetables and other documents in the hope that this will make your day at home smoother.
Remember if you are not sure please make contact with us, and we will respond to your queries.
Uniform Orders – the order form was sent home last week, all orders must be returned by Friday May 8, as we will place the order on Monday May 11. We will let you know when these arrive.
National Simultaneous Storytime – this year we will again participate in the National Simultaneous Storytime, this year’s story is Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas.
Nits are a sensitive topic – as we prepare to return to class full time, now would be a good time to double check for nits, as the break away from the regular routine of school has provided us with an opportunity to break a the life cycle of nits. I encourage all families to monitor and take action as necessary.
We are looking forward to seeing the children next week.
Take care and stay safe,
Although Mother’s Day will be different this year, there is no doubt that there will be love flowing out to mothers in many different ways. For all of the mums out there, I offer you this poem and a prayer. May your day be a happy one, no matter what form it takes.
A Mother's Love
There are times when only a mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappointments
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a mother's heart and a mother's faith
And a mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the angels
And sent from God above.
