Dear parents and carers,
Welcome to the final term of learning for 2020. Everyone has returned to school looking refreshed and ready to go for our new term.
Everyone has moved back into routine and has spent time sharing about the adventures had during the holiday break.
We have had further work completed on our technology infrastructure during the school holidays, which has been very helpful to all.
The work on the recycled water scheme is almost complete and this will enable us to know that we can keep our oval green during future dry times.
Already this term, we have welcomed two visiting teachers to our school. Mrs. Walker and Mr. Tenhave have spent time with us this week and will continue to work with us as the need arises.
Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding regarding the updated health guidelines as provided by Health NSW. These protocols will remain in place at least until the end of this term, or another update is received.
From the most recent update:
Visitors
- No parents or carers on site unless the meeting is considered essential and should be by exception.
- Parent and carer attendance not permitted at assemblies and other school events.
- Parent and carer volunteers not permitted – e.g. parent reading helpers (note: canteen volunteers are permitted)
- School-based activities that involve large gathering of adults not permitted. These include parent/community gatherings such as parent functions, working bees, fundraisers, school barbecues, large parent information evenings, and large on-site cultural events.
Excursions
- Day time excursions are permitted within the local area only, subject to appropriate risk assessments.
P & F Groups
- All face-to-face P&F activities to be conducted remotely.
- No P&F / Community Council social gatherings
- All visitors must accept terms and conditions (social distancing, enhanced hygiene protocols etc.) prior to entering the school.
Covid-19 Testing
- Students and staff with flu-like symptoms must not attend school or be sent home and tested for COVID-19.
- Where COVID-19 testing has occurred due to flu-like symptoms, and not due to close contact with a positive COVID-19 case, the person being tested must self-isolate until they receive a negative result. If the result is positive, they are required to self-isolate for 14 days. Family members are not required to self-isolate until the test result is received - although we encourage them to do so.
- The school must sight a negative test result before staff/students return to school.
- Staff/students must be symptom-free before returning to school.
- Schools must keep a record of negative staff/student’s tests in a central file.

It is hoped that everyone has been thinking about which character you might come along to our Book Week Parade as, remember to bring along the book that your character features in!
We are looking at some options for how you can be a part of this year’s book character parade and will let you know in the next few days how you can be a part of this year’s event!
End of Year Celebrations - We are hopeful that our usual end of year events can go ahead as planned.
As such please set aside Thursday December 10 – Speech night and Tuesday December 15 for our graduation/end of year celebration Mass.
We will confirm these dates for you.
P & F – Our P & F are currently preparing for a return to Canteen this term. The menu for Week 2 is attached.
More information about canteen will be coming home shortly. Please fill in and return order forms by Tuesday.
Changes to routine - Thank you to those families who are keeping us informed when children are absent from school, or there are changes to the regular routine.
Please make it your custom to check in at the office if your children are running late to school – we appreciate your efforts to do this.
Take care and stay safe,
Our all-loving God bless those for whom today will be difficult, those who will have pain to bear, those visited by sorrow or tragedy, those who will have to make difficult decisions or perform difficult tasks.
Amen
Father, we pray for those who have dedicated their lives to caring for the sick and the wounded. Please bless their efforts as they minister to those in need. Give them the strength to continue. We acknowledge that we do not know the reasons for sickness and suffering - so we put ourselves in your hands. We trust you to do what is best for us and for our loved ones.
Amen
Lord Jesus
May we be your healing grace in the lives of others.
May our joy and peace be uplifting to all we meet.
May we readily admit when the path becomes difficult.
May we join hands with our brothers and sisters in both good and bad times.
Amen
Peace and blessings,
